Musical Topic: Patterns Intelligences: The music helps the kids remember what kinds of patterns there are and the song would be in their head when they have quizzes or test. It's a good factor for them to have a song to listen and remember so they can do good on patterns. Activity: Students will learn the “Pattern” song. Materials: Their voices Directions: Students will listen to the pattern song and will sing a long on the second time we listen to the song.
Logical/Mathematical Topic: Patterns Intelligences: The kids learn patterns by applying their math skills and counting skills to find the end of the pattern. Activity: Students will learn patterns through math and number repetition. Materials: Paper and pencil Directions: Students will put the next number in the ordered pairs.
Bodily/Kinesthetic Topic: Patterns Intelligences: They students will learn different kinds of patterns by interacting with each other and learning the different kinds by what their wearing or have. Activity: Students will move around and find different patterns with each other. Materials: Themselves Directions: Students will get out of their seat and will interact with fellow classmates.
Linguistic Topic: Patterns Intelligences: The book will help the students see the pattern and read the patterns. It will also help them further their reading skills. Activity: Students will read and guess what’s next. Materials: The book Directions: Students will read this book and guess what the next thing will be.
Interpersonal Topic: Patterns Intelligences: Allows the students to interact with each other on a group assignment. Activity: The students will interact with each other by working in groups learning color patterns. Materials: A bag of Skittles, Color Pattern sheet Directions: Students get a handful of Skittles and a paper and will follow the pattern on the sheet.
Visual/Spatial Topic: Patterns Intelligences: Seeing the pattern before hand and copying helps them see what it’s suppose to look like. Activity: Students will put the fruit loops in the correct pattern like on the paper. Materials: Fruit loops and paper with patterns on them. Directions: Students will put the fruit loops in order like on the paper.
Intrapersonal Topic: Patterns Intelligences: Intrapersonal allows them to work independently and to for them to figure out what the patterns are. Activity: Students will sort the different colored cereal on the rainbow. Materials: A rainbow sheet, A bowl of Fruit Loops and dice Directions: Students will roll the dice and depending on the number will sort the right color in the right color space on the rainbow.
Naturalistic Topic: Patterns Intelligences: They would learn patterns while using marshmallows and this would help because they will learn that patterns are everywhere. Activity: Students will learn to do patterns through using natural food. Materials: Marshmallow, paint, paper. And cups/bowls. Directions: Students will make their own pattern with marshmallows and paint.
