The importance of Aqeedah Tawhid: 1.

Allah has ordered us to learn Tawhid before doing Ibaadat. (Surah Muhammad Muhammad-49:19)

2.

Allah the Exalted and Most Honored said, (And I created not the Jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me.) meaning, `I, Allah, only created them so that I order them to worship Me, not that I need them.' `Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbas commented on the Ayah, (...except that at they should worship Me.) meaning, "So that they worship Me, willingly or unwillingly.'' Allah the Exalted said, (I seek not any provision from them nor do I ask that they should feed Me. Verily, Allah is the All-Provider, Provider, Owner of power, the Most Strong.) Stron Imam Ahmad recorded that `Abdullah bin Mas`ud said, "The The Messenger of Allah taught the following: following (‫ِﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﺍ ْﻟ َﻤﺘِﻴﻦ‬ ِ‫ﺍ ْﻟﻘُ ﱠﻮﺓ‬ ‫ﺫُﻭ‬ ُ‫ﺍﻟ ﱠﺮﺯﱠﺍﻕ‬ ‫ﺃَﻧَﺎ‬ ‫)ﺇﺇﻧﱢﻲ‬ `Verily, I am the Provider, Owner of power, the Most Strong.' Abu Dawud, At At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa'i also collected this Hadith. At-Tirmidhi At Tirmidhi said, "Hasan Sahih. '' The meaning of this Ayah (51:56) is that, Allah the Exalted, the Blessed created the creatures so that they worship Him Alone without partners. Those who obey Him will be rewarded with the best rew rewards, while those who disobey Him will receive the worst punishment from Him. Allah stated that He does not need creatures, but rather, they are in need of Him in all conditions. He is alone their Creator and Provider. Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said, (Allah the Exalted said, "O Son of Adam! Busy yourself in worshipping Me, and I will fill your chest with riches and dissipate your meekness. Otherwise, I will fill your chest with distracting affairs and will not do d away with your meekness.'') At-Tirmidhi Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah collected this Hadith and At-Tirmidhi Tirmidhi said, "Hasan Gharib.'' The statement of Allah the Exalted, (And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a portion), indicates that they will recei receive their due share of the torment,

1

(like the evil portion (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on!) let them not ask that the punishment is rushed to them, for it will surely come, (Then woe to those who disbelieve from their Day which they have been promised.) meaning, the Day of Resurrection. This is the end of the Tafsir of Surat AdhAdh-Dhariyat; all praise is due to Allah and all the favors come from Him Alone.

3. Allah said next: (Say: "Verily, my Salah, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the all that exists.") Allah commands the Prophet to inform the idolators who worship other than Allah and sacrifice to something other than Him, that he opposes them in all this, for his prayer is for Allah, and his rituals are in His Name alone, without partners. Allah said in a similar statement, (Therefore turn in prayer to your our Lord and sacrifice.) ﴿108:2,, meaning, make your prayer and sacrifice for Allah alone. As for the idolators, they used to worship the idols and sacrifice to them, so Allah commanded the Prophet to defy them and contradict their practices. Allah, the Exalted, commanded him to dedicate his intention and heart to being sincere for Him alone. Mujahid commented, (Verily, my prayer and my Nusuk...) refers to sacrificing during Hajj and `Umrah.

4. The first obligatory duty for a momin (slave) before performing Salaat, Fast, Zakat and Hajj is to learn Tawhid. Narrated by Ibn Abbas (RA): Allah’s Apostle said: Call people towards Tawhid first, and then order them towards Fasting, Salaat, Zakat etc. (Sahih Bukhari & Sahih Muslim) Muslim).

5.

Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA):

Allah’s Apostle said: Remembrance of Tawhid “La ilaha illallah” refreshes your Imaan Imaan. (Musnad Ahmad). Composed by Mohammed S Shahid Hussain Email: [email protected] 2
