Minutes of the LSG General Assembly 22 November 2008 (Saturday), 6:00 to 7:00 PM Ambion Room Prepared by: Jan Nicklaus S. Bunag Vice President, Block A2012 23 November 2008 I.

LSG Hour A. Projects: Old and New 1. Interview Assistance Program (new) 2. ADAPT Freshmen (reduced from two days to one for efficiency) 3. Lex Libris (new) 4. Disposition of Cases (new) 5. Forums a. So Ano Na? (on SONA 2008) b. ARMM Elections Roundtable Discussion 6. Freshmen Week 2008 7. BarOps 8. Merchandise Sale B. Improved Systems 1. UP_Law e-group v. oneuplaw (e-mails sent to alumni screened) 2. Water station (long been proposed, finally up and running) 3. LSG website (up but still needs to be formally launched) C. Committees 1. RegCom (new, institutionalization has started) 2. National Affairs Committee (NAC) a. Two meetings per month, monthly activities planned b. Members needed, contact Jobert: (0927) 970-4899 3. Alumni Relations Committee (proponents of the de-blocking idea) 4. StRAW (placeholder until a Magna Carta for Students is approved) 5. GradCom a. Graduation (freshmen are tapped to serve as ushers) b. Yearbook Committee (works the longest) • Former yearbook EICs are welcome to join as early as now (i.e. Jan and Juno); contact Bernice: (0920) 919-6423 • This year’s yearbook committee needs additional members/volunteers D. Representational 1. SAWA 2. Food Committee (there are plans to allow a coffee shop to establish a stall within the complex)

3. Building Committee (there are plans to install a new elevator) 4. LSGCC 5. Investigations (the LSG President represented the student body in an investigation involving a freshman) 6. League of College Councils 7. UP LSG Charter Change E. Financial Report F. New Policies Under Dean Leonen 1. Two-month moratorium on activities (too long) 2. Finals Week moratorium (okay) 3. Heightened security (okay because it is needed) 4. Dress code (against) 5. De-blocking (about 60% of students rejected it, about 30% are for it; Dean Leonen is very vocal about its implementation) 6. Academic guidelines/rules Note: Please refer to the University’s and the College’s academic guidelines/rules for detailed information. a. Overloading (20-units-cap rule is now STRICTLY implemented; only exception is when student is excelling in his/her studies) b. Dropping/Purging c. Automatic dismissal* (when 50% of total units allocated for a particular semester are not obtained due to failing marks; STRICT interpretation of rules related to this) d. Probation** (when 25% of total units allocated for a particular semester are not obtained; STRICT interpretation of rules) G. New Projects and Dates to Remember 1. Alay sa Personnel (Christmas Party for the staff/personnel) a. Tentative date: December 6 (Saturday) b. No venue yet c. Program, meal, and exchanging of gifts d. Freshmen sections are in charge (no division of labor yet; Presidents of said sections are expected to meet regarding this) 2. Malcolm Madness a. Theme: Law School Musical b. Date: Dec. 13 (Saturday) c. Venue: TBA

The LSG will be sending a letter to the Dean requesting for clarification soon. “Non-probationary status the following semester will cure past status” v. “Once on probation, always on probation” rule; clarifications will also be sought **
