Article V.B.2: Election and Constitution Committees removed as standing committees
By-Laws Amended
Article IV: Terms of office shall read: “Each newly elected officer shall take office on the last day of the Annual Conference and shall serve until the last day of the Annual Conference. The President-Elect, who is elected annually, shall succeed into the Presidency position and the President shall succeed into the Immediate Past-Presidency upon the completion of their oneyear terms. The Treasurer shall be elected biennially in odd years and the Secretary shall be elected biennially in even years. In the event of a vacancy of the Executive Council, the President shall appoint a replacement with the approval of the Council.”
Article VI.A.1 removed: item stipulated that one officer must represent a four-year institution and one a two-year institution.
Article VI.A.1 added: “The Nominating Committee shall establish the elections process and timeline.”
Motion to approve Constitution/By-Laws as amended (1st-Elizabeth Marsh, 2ndLiz Uptegrove) passed unanimously. NJALL/NJADE Conference – “Post Secondary Transition” March 26-27, 2009 o NJALL will manage logistics and planning; NJADE will be given a block of sessions on March 27.
Interim President-Elect Gwen Kane identified as Conference Committee chair. Cyndee Geoffroy agreed to co-chair and others volunteered to help work with NJALL Conference Chair Hal Beder to fill slots and publicize to NJ NADE members. Conference committee will issue call for proposals from its membership. Have breakout sessions/panels for various areas: math, English, tutoring, writing centers, advising, testing, assessment, etc. Motion to accept proposal by NJALL to co-host conference (1st-Elizabeth Marsh, 2nd-Sandi Silverberg) passed unanimously. Membership dues o Proposed grace period for NJADE membership dues until June 30, 2009. o Proposed NJADE membership dues to be $10 for the July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010, fiscal year (FY10). Motion to approve membership dues grace period for FY09 and $10 membership dues for FY10 (Sandi Silverberg, Gwen Kane) passed unanimously. o
