My project topic this semester is ACL injury and rehabilitation. I chose this as my project topic because this is a common injury seen in the training room, and I have personally been affected by this injury.

My current event was an article written about how injuries are less prevalent when an athletic trainer is present. This article relates to my project because my mentor is an athletic trainer. School injuries are assessed more quickly compared to schools who don’t have access to an athletic trainer.
Creating a knee model (highlighting ACL ligament) I will create my model using rubber bands and dog bones. My product will be used to demonstrate the anatomy and special tests done for an ACL injury

Throughout the semester I was fortunate enough to learn about ACL injuries and other things related in the sports medicine career. I learned about all the procedures post-injury for an ACL as well as rehab exercises for post surgery.
I would like to say thank you to my mentor for allowing me to shadow her this semester and teaching me everything she has taught me. Thank you to my evaluators for taking the time to come and grade my presentation. I would also like to thank my parents for always believing in me, and always pushing me to do my best. Lastly, I would like to thank Mrs. Click for accepting me into this program and allowing me to learn more about my future career.
