(2017) entitled “Online College Portal” “Living in modern world and not utilizing digitalization not a superior way, utilizing current innovation and web for decreasing work and expanding effectiveness is an approach to computerized nation and utilizing innovation helps in having a shrewd work process so to actualize this in school an Online College Portal is intended to execute digitalization and lessening work of school staff/personnel like figuring level of participation and imprints, giving time-table, keeping records in documents for a considerable length of time is diminished by this framework and to defeat the issues brought about by human mistake and wastage of time doing all procedure physically.”

Online College Portal (OCP) provides a simple interface for maintenance of student–faculty information. It can be used by educational institutes or colleges to maintain the records of students easily. The creation and management of accurate, update information regarding a students’ academic career is critically important in the university as well as colleges. Student information system deals with all kind of student details, academic related reports, college details, course details, curriculum, batch details, placement details and other resource related details too. It tracks all the details of a student from the day one to the end of the course which can be used for all reporting, tracking of attendance, progress in the course, completed semesters, upcoming semester year curriculum details, exam details, project or any other assignment details, final exam result and all these will be available through a secure, online interface embedded in the college’s site . It will also have faculty details, batch execution details, students’ details in all aspects, the various academic notifications to the staff and students updated by the college administration. It also facilitate us explore all the activities taking place in the college, different reports and queries are generated based on vast options related to students, batch, course, faculty, exams, semesters, certification and even for the entire college (Chavan et al., 2015) As cited by Bashir (2014) In Nigeria, “The design and implementation of an online portal registration in the process of nation building should not be undermined. In view of this, there is a

need to bring the situation under control to avoid a total collapse of the process. This paper review that the proposed design and implementation of an online portal registration in National Open University of Nigeria, Damaturu Study Centre. Nevertheless, it has become vital for both the students and the information technology (IT) users to team up and make use of the system. Information concerning this work will be obtained through questionnaire, oral interview and observation. Based on this information, the researcher will be able to identify what kinds of design and implementation techniques used for the students online registration in National Open University of Nigeria, Damaturu Study Centre, Yobe State. It is expected that at the end all students will appreciate in registration, records etc in an online portal registration for the development of National Open University of Nigeria, Damaturu Study Centre and Yobe State in general. To successfully carry out this study, the write-up is divided into five chapters. First chapter is the introductory chapter which discuss among others, the background of study, statement of research problems, significance of the study, scope of the study, research hypothesis and definition of terms. Second chapter is concerned with the review of related literature which examines other people’s views regarding the research topic. Third chapter is concentrated on the methodology used for carrying out research, while presentation of data and analysis are contained in chapter four. The summary of the study, the research findings, conclusion and recommendations are contained in chapter five. However, it is hoped that this research work will contribute in no small way towards solving the design and implementation of an online portal registration in National Open University of Nigeria, Damaturu Study Centre, Damaturu, Yobe State.” Krishna (2016) states that “Portal is a specially designed website that helps to bring information together from different sources in a uniform way. Online Student Portal (OSP) is a web application which is mainly focused on one who are trying to learn known as students and the one who trying to teach a learner known as teachers. The members in this portal can exchange information in different formats such as video, images, pdf etc. This application will be very useful for students to get updated to latest information and to communicate with world wide learners. OSP provides services like, online book shop, online courses, forums, communities, study materials, news and events.”
