Introduction One of the interesting subjects in the study of human behavior is that which we cal PERSONALITY. This is the because it concerns each one of us directly and intimately. IT deals with what we are as an individual and what we are like to be. IT relates with our association with others and at the same time protects our own selves. It involves “Character Building”

Nature of Personality Personality determines a number of important characteristics and behaviors, including how people interact with others, what motivates them, and what they value. Personality is defined as the whole person, his external appearance, his inner awareness of self, and his unique pattern of adjustment which we are fairly permanent. According to Hilgard, Atkinson and Atkinson: personality refers to an individual’s social effectiveness. We often near from same people say, “He has a lot of personality.” It also refers to one’s most striking characteristics as in “He has a shy personality.” A complete description of personality would include intellectual capacities, motives, and emotional states, attitudes, beliefs, moral values, likes and dislikes. In everyday life, traits of personality are roughly determined by watching the person directly, by asking others about him, or by asking him as to what he would do in certain situation. -Report By: Rea Regalario
II. Measuring Personality: Personality Test This is test designed to measure same aspects of an individual’s personality. The Type of Personality are: 1. Rating Scale A device used in evaluating products, attitudes, or other characteristics of instructors or learners. The usual form is an evaluation chart carrying some suggestive points for checking. 2. PERSONALITY INVENTORY This is measuring device for determining an individual personal characteristics such as his emotional adjustment or tendencies toward introversion. It maybe arranged for self rating for rating by other persons. This test also measures dominance and submissiveness.
3. PROJECTIVE TEST A method of measurement of an individual’s personality in which the stimulus is usually instructed and produces responses and reflecting the person’s individuality. An example of this test is the RORSCHACH TEST consisting of ink blots which the subjects interpret and his interpretations reveal his personality. Another one is the THEMATES APPERCEPTION TEST consisting of standardized pictures which the respondent interprets and his interpretations will reveal his values, motives and other aspects of his personality.
