Safety: Make sure all students have mats, make sure students remove shoes, tell students to only perform the jumps they feel comfortable with, and always have a partner watching for assistance.

In addition, students will be able to: Cognitive: Students will think and feel how their body moves through the air as they’re practicing different jumps. Psychomotor: Students will be challenged to perform different jumps based on their skill level. Affective: Students will cheer on their classmates to help them through challenges.

Development of Individual Professional Competency from MEES: PC _6_ To develop this targeted PC, I will: Ensure that the student stay on task as much as possible, so student can explore the motion and their own imagination.

Challenge the students to combine two jumps in one sequence. If students are having a hard time with the jumps, make sure they stick to one jump.

Equipment/ variations: Mats Safety: Make students always have a partner watching them, make sure students are in socks or barefoot, tell the students to give the jumper enough space to jump, and the jumper should say which jump with are trying so the spotting student can be aware.

Activity Main Activity – Welcome to the Jungle! Create an obstacle course, where all the jumps will be implemented, in addition to the balance poses from the class before. Place five poly spots (red) where students will perform one jump 2 to 2 on. Place two jump ropes one the ground (snakes) that the students will have to jump over. Put a balance beam, where students will have to walk on the tip of their toes. Put out three mats in a row, where students will attempt to perform any combination 2 to 2 jump.

Culminating Activity/Cool-down Stretch while talking about which jumps, which ones they preferred, which one was the easiest or hardiest, etc.

Task Progressions Example to the students, that in the jungle there is a bear, and that they must stop moving for three secs when they are close to the bear. Add colored (green) poly spots around the obstacle course, that will represent the bear. At these poly spots students will perform a balance pose, for three secs. Add two mats, where students will try and create a new kind of jump 2 to 2.

Equipment: Mats, Poly spots (different colors), Jump ropes, Balance beam Safety: Make sure students go one at a time through every activity, make sure students take appropriate spacing to perform the jumps, students should take their time at each station, and students should remove their shoes.
