This ia a serious matter. Please pay attention to the details in the mail and the blog as listed. It affects 1000s of Indian kids! Dear Sir, This is to bring to your kind notice that the Global Indian International School in Singapore has many irregularities and poor quality of standards that do not meet expectations of CBSE as, they are providing a educational service that has horrendous level of teaching, pathetic recruitment process to get teachers on board and above all focusing only on commercialization of the school as a business entity than as an education provider. The poor quality of results as you can see in a one page report in this Parents Grievances Blog is testimony to the statements made in this complaint. The management is absolutely inexperienced in education business and is just rampantly increasing its presence in different countries catching on the opportunity to gain the untapped market for Indian education in the South East Asian Countries. Parents ignorance, helplessness and desperation to have Indian education has been extensively exploited by GIIS Management. Please read the cries of Parents in the comments section here. One simple instance of an evidence is the bullying tactics of the school which denied my child an opportunity to get re-totaling done for Maths score that is pathetic as you can see in the blog. They denied issuing Marks sheet and the re-totaling forms until we paid a fee for a "so called" graduation dress. We lost the opportunity as, we also left the country to pursue other opportunities for the child's higher education. The marks are frozen and the future education is at stake. We as parents are victimized, helpless, frustrated and are devastated completely by the brutality of the management of GIIS, Singapore which is unfortunately a CBSE approved school that does not even stand a chance to pass the stringent standards of CBSE.. There seems to be no control over the following and hope that this mail will alert the vigilance control to straighten the matters and help the parents and potential victims in the future.: 1. Quality of Teachers recruited: Most of the teachers are inexperienced, adhoc and poor in teaching. There seems to be no background check on them before recruitment. Many of them seem to have been from a large pool of expats wives who are actually not teachers and have managed to use their status of migration in Singapore to gain employment and catch some experience at the cost of the future of our kids. Thus, there is absolutely no consistency in the quality of teachers across the board. 2. Monitoring methods in maintaining the standards of teaching CBSE subjects: Neither the school nor the CBSE has any formal methods to check the pathetic state in GIIS especially, handling higher classes - X, XI & XII being their first batch coming out of the school 3. Uncontrolled Pricing structure: There is absolutely no rationalization nor any concern over the cries for good quality teaching and there is only a one sided autocracy of perpetual increase of fees in the name of improvement of quality education. On the contrary, there is a negative trend in the school's reputation due to poor quality of education. 4. Irregularities in Compliance to CBSE Norms: The school started Tution classes after school hours using the staff from the same pool of teachers who were teaching the CBSE subjects and they wooed the parents to signing up their children for these Tutions by instilling a phobia. Again, an attempt to grab the helpless condition to turn it to a money spinning opportunity. The fact that they started Tutions is a sufficient proof of their incompetence and inability to cope with the time allocated for subjects due to constant commercials events launched by the school to build their business eating into the valuable education time of the students. 5.School turns the Trust based "Non-Profit" Management into a Commercial "For Profit" venture: Being very elated about the role of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a "Non-profit organization", we gained the needed initial impetus and confidence to admit our kids to the school. But, to our horror, we were trapped by a greedy Management who worked through this camouflage and cheated the parents making them feel that they were under the care of a "so called" governance of a Trust based entity. The Management took complete control over the erstwhile establishment that we always thought was a "Non-profit Institution" and has gobbled up countless amounts of money without being transparent to the parents, the source of all these monies. Please Sir, do give relief to the parents who are suffering with the pathetic quality of overall results in the CBSE XII in the year 2008 as, most of them are in an absolute dilemma and quagmire having no confidence or direction of their future. Many kids have not got admissions to pursue further studies. This is a request on behalf of the 1000s of parents of the kids in GIIS to get a solace to the problem and we earnestly request you to investigate and take control over the situation and relieve the tense atmosphere that prevails in the tender minds of our kids and us, the helpless parents! Looking forward to your kind attention and help.
