MAGNA CARTA FOR RESIDENTIAL CONSUMERS
Pursuant to the Provisions of Section 41 of Republic Act No. 9136 otherwise known as the Electric Power Industry Reform Act, the Energy Regulatory Commission hereby promulgates the Magna Carta for Residential Electricity Consumers as adopted in a Resolution by the Commission on June 9, 2004. The following provisions needs immediate compliance. ARTICLE 6 – RIGHT TO ELECTRIC SERVICE Our policy is to transfer all kwh meters to poles, that our connection point shall be the pole where the kwh meters of the consumers are located. All materials and labor costs after the kwh meter shall be borne by the consumer.
ARTICLE 8 – EXEMPTION FROM PAYMENT OF METER DEPOSITS Effective immediately all residential consumers applying for new connection shall be exempt from paying meter deposits. In cases of loss and/or damage to the electric meter due to the fault of the customer, he shall bear the replacement cost of the meter. ARTICLE 28 – OBLIGATION TO PAY BILL DEPOSITS All new and additional residential connections shall be required to pay energy deposits based on coop policy.
