Questioner Book:

Assignment:
pg __________ to pg _________
This week, I read:
_________% of the assignment
Role Your job is to try to “question the text” while you read. As you do this, develop a list of questions that your group might want to discuss about this part of the book. Don’t worry about the small details, instead, try to ask questions about the big ideas in the reading. Usually, the best discussion questions come from your own thoughts, feelings, and concerns as you read. Ask open-ended questions starting with “why” and “how” so that people can’t answer with only one or two words. If they try to, ask them why they think what they do. DON’T ASK “QUIZ QUESTIONS.” During your discussion, it will be your job to keep the discussion moving by asking new questions so that your group always has something to talk about. If your group is too quiet, you will be asked to jump-start a new discussion with one of your questions.
Questions Come up with AT LEAST 6 GOOD QUESTIONS that you can ask in your group discussion to make people really think about what they have read. 1. ______________________________________________________________________________ 2. ______________________________________________________________________________ 3. ______________________________________________________________________________ 4. ______________________________________________________________________________ 5. ______________________________________________________________________________ 6. ______________________________________________________________________________ 7. ______________________________________________________________________________ 8. ______________________________________________________________________________
