We’re Listening! Have you noticed the dry erase board in the library? It has made its way from the Student Lounge to the third floor by the elevator. Watch for it as it floats throughout the library asking various questions. It is your opportunity to let us know how you would like to see the library improved. Thanks to those who have contributed already; we appreciate your input. Look for updates in future issues of Library News describing our efforts to respond to your suggestions.

New copiers! New Features! Check out the new copiers in the library! In direct response to student requests, the new machines have built-in sheet feeders and duplex capabilities, cutting down on the amount of paper used. Copies are still $ .10. The machines accept nickels, dimes, quarters, dollar bills and pre-paid copy cards. Just a reminder! The library also has a color copier located on the second floor! Color copies are $.50 per page.

Recently, rumors that a local restaurant was serving unsavory food circulated on the ECU campus and around Ada in general. By now, you know the rumors were false. However, stories like this, often referred to as urban legends, spread faster than the latest cold or flu virus. Come to the library to learn more about urban legends. Dr. Patrick Bohan, ECU Department of Environmental Health Science, will explain the basics of food safety and the science debunking many urban legends. Kara Cloud, ECU Department of Sociology, will discuss the origins of urban legends. Angie Brunk, Linscheid Library, will help you find information to debunk many of the tall tales that land in your inbox.
