From the Pastor’s Desk - An Apple a Day …

And He was saying to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Luke 10:2).

As I write to you this month, I hope the title did not “scare you away.” I know the number of apples that were peeled, cut, cooked, sauced, cooked some more (as the sauce turned to butter), jarred, and sold. I know the amount of time and energy ; sweat and tears, that went into each jar. I ALSO KNOW THE TRUTH THAT HAS COME FROM EACH JAR.

It was through your labors: your money, your time, your energy, your sweat and tears, that the apples were finished, the jars were sold, and many were touched (not from the eating of the apple butter but in the gifts which the church gave). As you know; each year the church repeats this process of peeling, cooking, jarring, and selling with the sole purpose of raising money so others can help spread the love of God.

in the Advent season looking for the coming of the Christ. I urge you to not only look, but to help others see. Share with those around you the love not just of the season which is almost here, but share with them the love that is eternal: the love of Jesus Christ. Spend the season touching souls … and who knows … maybe one day you will meet someone in heaven who is there in part because you cared.

I write to you this month to remind you to not stop the race. Although the apples are done and the bodies are tired, the most joyous of seasons is upon us. By the time I write you again, we will be

Adult Sunday School Class Winter Schedule 2009 The Adult Sunday School Class meets at 9:30 AM each Sunday morning. The class is taught by several members of the class and is an open forum Bible Study. For the remainder of 2009 and the first half of 2010, the class will be looking at Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, and 1st & 2nd Corinthians. For those that have not attended before, we invite you

to come and join us on Sunday morning as we look at Paul‟s Letters and join in fellowship together. The class schedule for the rest of 2009 is as follows: November 1st - Galatians 5 8th - Galatians 6

December 6th - Ephesians 4 13th - Ephesians 5
