downtown spartanburg With a rich history and a bright future, Spartanburg is emerging as a vibrant metropolis in the heart of Upstate South Carolina. Known as the “Hub City” since the late 1800s, Spartanburg is once again a crossroads for culture, commerce and higher learning.

Culture Day or night, there’s no shortage of diverse cultural activities. Converse College and Wofford College, both renowned liberal arts institutions, offer a variety of cultural events open to the public including music, art, theatre, dance, and creative writing.

Home to several corporate headquarters, restaurants, boutiques, cultural centers and two colleges, downtown Spartanburg is brimming with excitement and activity. At the center of downtown is the newly-revitalized Morgan Square. Wide, inviting sidewalks, trees, and a fountain create a pleasant home for daytime commerce and spirited nightlife.

The new Chapman Cultural Center, which will open in the Fall of 2007, is 86,000 square-feet dedicated to the visual and performing arts, science and history. Adjacent to Barnet Park, the center will house a 500-seat community theatre (home to the Spartanburg Little Theatre and Spartanburg Repertory Company), the Spartanburg County Museum of Art and Art School, Spartanburg

County Regional History Museum, Ballet Spartanburg Dance Education Center, Spartanburg Science Center, Spartanburg Artists’ Guild Gallery, Music Foundation of Spartanburg and The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg. If you’re interested in an organic cultural experience, check out The Hub City Writers Project. Formed by local writers, the group gives a voice to local artists of the written word - readings by Hub City authors are frequently hosted by downtown coffee houses. Hub-Bub.com is a creative community that promotes local artists, frequently hosting independent film festivals, local music performances and art exhibitions.

Entertainment and Recreation Downtown Spartanburg offers a variety of activities for all tastes - from nature enthusiasts to sports fans to connoisseurs of fine cuisine - the options are nearly endless. Catch a top entertainer at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, cheer on Southern Conference athletics at Wofford College, shop at one of several specialty boutiques, or sample international cuisine in a downtown eatery. Saturdays in the summer and fall, visit the Hub City Farmer’s Market, showcasing local and often organic produce. Or meet friends for Music on Main or Jazz on the Square on a Thursday or Friday evening. Spartanburg’s active and close-knit community makes downtown a great place to work, play and live.

Downtown Spartanburg Master Plan Stretching toward the future, Downtown Spartanburg is a center of growth and development. To help manage and maximize this development, the City of Spartanburg has collaborated with the community to create a master plan to guide the Hub City for the next 20 years. While the details of the master plan are free to adapt as the downtown evolves, the core purpose is to create a public space that serves as an economic, physical, social and emotional center for Spartanburg. Over time, streetscapes will be improved to encourage pedestrianism throughout downtown. Sidewalks

will be widened, bicycle routes created, and landscaping added to create an inviting atmosphere connecting primary city corridors. The historic nature of the city will be preserved by adapting significant buildings and designing new structures to enhance the urban landscape. The addition of high-quality, affordable downtown housing will drive additional retail growth and community identity. The inclusion of lush green space, trees and parks will ensure sustainability and enjoyment for generations to come.

interior

finishes

comfort & sophistication The design of the corridors and lobbies provides a sophisticated, urban feel in a transitional style. The color palette is slightly contemporary, yet inviting. The main lobby features a contemporary carpet inset surrounded by limestone inspired porcelain tile with mosaic tile accents. All finishes in public spaces were selected to be stylish yet durable, so that owners and their guests may enjoy these common areas for years. Lobbies feature clean-lined lighting and furnishings, creating a comfortable place to mingle with neighbors or meet guests.

The interior finish selections for each of the residences were combined to offer a stylish, high quality backdrop for each owner to use as a complement to their personal style. As you enter the unit, oak hardwood floors lead to the open floor plan and continue into the kitchen area. Durable all-loop carpeting with a subtle natural texture offers a luxurious softness in the living and bedroom areas.

A travertine inspired porcelain tile in a warm neutral tone is used in all bathrooms, with shower and bath surrounds accented with brick shaped tile of the same material. Neutral cultured marble countertops in the baths provide the appeal of a durable surface with ease of maintenance. Satin Nickel lighting packages are in a transitional style to blend with any type of interior décor. Kohler plumbing packages are offered in a timeless satin nickel finish and coordinate with the satin nickel hardware throughout the unit.

The cabinetry offerings by Aristokraft are solid wood door construction in maple stained in a choice of natural, medium or dark cherry stain. Optional door styles include a contemporary quarter panel design and a more traditional raised panel. To complement each of the cabinetry offerings, the kitchens feature granite countertops or optional Silestone quartz countertops. Kitchens also feature stainless appliances, sinks, and coordinating hardware and plumbing fixtures. Pre-designed interior packages offer a variation in color palettes and style.
