LARRY GUITTARD LIACS MVP!

PHIL MCCANN INDUCTED INTO "LIACS HALL OF FAME"

Larry Guittard is the winner of the MVP Contest for 2001/2002. The The Long Island Association for Central Service inducted our fourth award is given for the Chapter member who accumulated the most member into the "LIACS Hall of Fame" at the Chapter's Holiday Dinner points through the participation in Chapter activities. These activities include: attendance at educational meetings, social events, participation Dance. Phil McCann who as been involved in our Chapter since the early beginnings has been a perennial supporter and "doer" throughout on the Board of Directors and as Committee Chairpersons and the years. His advice and suggestions to our organization has helped to committee members. The first prize award is $700 and Larry will be able to use this to attend any of the IAHCSMM meetings, Chapter seminars make our Chapter the success it is today. and other educational programs within the next year. This is Larry's Carl Newman, Buxton's President and long time friend of Phil and second time as a winner of this Award. Congratulations Larry ! Evelyn Don Gordon, LIACS President expressed their "thanks" and congratulations for the contributions he has made to our profession. In Baez won the 2nd place award and Melody Traversi was 3rd. The final standings were as follows: Phil's acceptance speech he talked about how our profession has Larry Guittard $700 changed over the years and how we as individuals much strive to "Raise 1st Place: 2nd Place: Evelyn Baez $600 the Bar". Melody Traversi $400 The gala evening was held at Singleton's in Oyster Bay and featured 3rd Place: 4th Place: Kathy Froehlich $300 a delicious dinner, unlimited drinks, dancing and karaoke. JOINT CONFERENCE AND TECHNICAL EXHIBITION IN :2005. A JOINT CONVENTION COMMITTEE, CONSISTING OF FIVE MEMBERS FROM EACH ASSOCIATION AND FIVE INDUSTRY ADVISORS, WILL BE NAMED NEXT MONTH. THE FIFTEEN-MEMBER ASSEMBLY WILL MEET QUARTERLY AND THAN AS NEEDED TO CONDUCT THE FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS. LEADERS FROM IAHCSMM AND ASHCSP MET IN DECEMBER TO DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY OF A JOINT CONFERENCE AND ESTABLISH THE COMMITTEE STRUCTURE. IAHCSMM PRESIDENT BRENDA SEXTON SAID "THE PROSPECTS OF A JOINT MEETING IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR CS PROFESSIONALS WHO APPRECIATE THE IMPORTANCE OF ADVANCING EDUCATION IN THE FIELD.
