TASKS/ACTIVITIES Resources & Time
Introduction Students will:
Teacher will: Start the lesson by telling the students that today they will learn new sound but they have to guess what is it
Students will participate with the teacher by trying to guess the sound
pick up two students that their names start begins with /r/ to come up and stand in front of all the students , The teacher will pronounce the students names while putting extra emphasis on the sound
/r/. After the students guess the sound she will bring out the sound r flashcard and show it and pronounce and ask the students to repeat after her
Students will watch the video carefully, respond to the teacher questions and be active with her.
Students will repeat after the teacher
Play the letter r video and ask the students to watch carefully because there will be questions after the video e.g. what was the letter you saw in the video? Can you remember 1 word you saw? What did you see also? when the students mention the words, she will bring the words flashcard, display all the flashcards and ask the students to repeat after her

Guided practice/Interactive modeling (15 minutes)
Tell your students to remain seated in a circle for a fun game.
Show your students two or three roses.
Tell your students to pass the roses around the circle while you play some music.
When the music stops, the two or three students holding a rose will get to name a word that begins with R.
Play the game until every students gets a turn to hold a rose and name a word.
