Learning to Inspire As a student, I know of the importance of having good teachers in a classroom. If they do not give their all, students will lose their desire to learn. When the teachers lack motivation to teach they too start to gave up because in their minds if the adult does not care why should they?! This is more noticeable in poor neighborhoods where a person is not worth anything and as a result their self-worth is so low they expect the kind of treatment that in some places they deemed unworthy of animals much less of human beings. Teachers must realize that with their work they mold students to be the adults of tomorrow, so when they teach without effort students will learn to not care for anything but if the opposite is true, besides caring students will be so much better prepared giving their all to society becoming apt citizens. Some countries that were considered poor began to grow only when their governments chose to give more importance to the teachers’ work, investing in their career and bringing a better working environment for them. But even with the lack of government help, many teachers dedicate their time to teaching with joy and commitment; although they live far away they know that their payment and achievement is in the students who will grow to become great human beings. As William Arthur Ward once said “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
