The Key Word Is Tolerance
How can one dress justify the bullying a young woman suffers from the hands of her peers? We are not in the last century when the army was in power and students fought to have the freedom to say, wear and be what they wanted. So, why a woman was being punished for wearing a mini-skirt that has being worn by women over five decades. I do not know all the facts; I do not consider her a saint. What I condemn is the bullying she suffered in a place of learning and understanding. If the students do not want this kind of dress to be worn in their school they should sign a petition and request the school board that all women should be forbidden to wear it, instead of throwing stones at her. The college should assemble all students to an open discussion of human behavior and question why all the interested parts behaved as they did and how they would feel to be in her shoes. We have to learn to understand and respect that people are different from one another inside out. Tolerance is important because you will always find people who are different than you and if you do not respect others how can you ask them to respect you?
