Mr. Francisco Chapela ERA – Estudios Rurales y Asesoria Oaxaca, Mexico

Ref.: Cooperation agreement between LEAD and ERA for Training Programme

Dear Mr. Chapela,

Following our recent visit to your organisation LEAD International is pleased to inform that your project “Community Forestry Development in Sierra Norte” was selected as one of the five sites to be part of the Next Generation Development Programme (NGDP). The NGDP training programme is delivered by LEAD International and LEAD Mexico in partnership with the financial organisation HSBC and consulting organisation Future Considerations. As mentioned during our visit, the core objective of this training programme is to provide an opportunity for HSBC’s emerging leaders to experience real sustainable development challenges and work together with the host organisations in developing and delivering solutions that will ultimately add value to local communities and the environment. The programme will take place from May 10th – 16th and a group of 20 international participants (final numbers still to be agreed) will visit the project during that week. As part of this cooperation agreement we would like to have the support from your organisation to organise all local logistical requirements, arrange meetings with local stakeholders and provide technical advice for the HSBC group about the sustainability aspects related to the project. LEAD Mexico will also provide logistical assistance for the delivery of this project and will be your main point of contact. LEAD Mexico staff will communicate with you shortly to kick off preparations. I will be your contact at LEAD International with respect to all matters related to the overall management of this project. Once again, we are very enthusiastic about this initiative and thankful for your support. Wish all the best for you and your team. Yours sincerely,

Fernando Monteiro Head of Networks and Communications LEAD International
