Land Record of Jacob Lewellen Hardin Co, Kentucky, 19 Feb 1799 http://myfamilylines‐lewellyn.blogspot.com James Garrard Esquire Governor of the commonwealth of Kentucky to all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that by virtue and in consideration of part of two Land Office treasury warrants Nos. 7956 and 7947 there is granted by the said commonwealth unto Jacob Lewallen apee of Harrison Taylor Henry Rhoads and Stephen Clever Commissioners to Settle the estate of Joseph Barrett Decd acertain Tract or Parcel of Land containing one hundred and fifty acres by survey bearing date the ninth day of October one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven lying and being in Hardin County on the south side of Rough Creek and bounded as followeth T___ beginning out ____ black oak and white oak south west corner to Stephen Clevers 600 acre survey thence south forty degrees west eighty poles to a black oak where oak and ____ tree north east corner of a 900 acre survey in the name of the heirs of Joseph Barrett thence with the line of the same Smith five degrees East one hundred and twenty six poles to two Hickories and Dogwood another corner of the same thence due East one hundred and thirty four poles to a black oak and white oak thence due north one hundred and twenty three poles to two white oaks in the line of Stephen Clevers 600 Acres surbvey thence with the line of the same due west seventy eight poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances __ to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Jacob Lewellen and his heirs forever In witness whereof the said James Garrard Esqr governor of the commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto __ his land and caused the seal of the said commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the nineteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine and of the commonwealth the seventh ___ By the Governor James Garrard Harry Toulmin Transcribed by Renae Curtis
