Box Hill 24 Hour Police Station Victoria Police AU$ 5 million Public Entry
Proposed Box Hill 24-Hour Police Station is located on corner of Whitehorse Road and Kangerong Road. The project is under-construction and to be completed by the beginning of 2010. As it is rebuilt on existing police station site, transition management has been involved as well as the design of temporary police station on Middleborough Road. The design satisfies the functional requirements of a police station while ensuring the proportion, scale and character of the building lies well in neighborhood. In the absence of Green Star Council rating, the design has ensured a maximum use of natural light but yet minimize heat absorption. Also, natural ventilation has been used in conjunction with smart air-conditioning system.

This project is located on Historic Church/School site, circa 1854, in Carlton. For nearly a decade, the seminary has accommodated the catechetical & seminarians needs while it keeps growing. To suit client’s needs, there were some works required to Building ‘C’ & ‘D’. Fifteen bedrooms and recreation room have been added to the precinct, and also the extension of dinning room and kitchen. As its location is heritage listed, the architecture was influence by the existing building and surroundings whilst the external staircase was designed to be as transparency as possible. With a well organizing and cooperating bet ween client, architect and builder, the project had completed under the budget and within a tight timeframe in February 2008.

The Reggio Emilia Approach has been adopted as early education philosophy in this kindergarten, which reflects great credit on architectural plan. This project is a part of Fintona Girls School development located on Balwyn Road and was completed in April 2008.

The design embraces an excellence learning community and recognizes the phenomenon that children learn through their senses. The abundance of space, light and harmonious colors ensure a sense of wellbeing. The environment is purposefully arranged to encourage creativity, exploration and discovery. The transparency and visibility in the design allows for greater awareness and socialization bet ween children, parents and staff.

An improvement to the building gives students & teachers a good quality teaching/learning-space and also reflects a learning pedagogy. Considering a local climate, natural light & ventilation have been introduced into building but yet shading out the summer sun.
