JUNE 7 2009 PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently, especially Margaret Hunt, Peter Rouble and Barbara Donnelly. PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.

PARISH SUPPER – VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!!!! We are still looking for approximately 20 – 25 more volunteers to help out with various duties for the day. Areas of need are: take out, hostessing, kitchen duties (dishes and someone to help make gravy) to name a few. If you can help out, please contact Louise Neville 432-7698. THANK YOU!

T

he Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conception have chosen Sister Sheila Whelan to be a member of their Leadership Team. Her many talents will be a gift to her community. After eight years as part of our Parish team we will miss her generous and committed ministry. Sister Sheila will begin her new position in September. Let us show our appreciation and support as she enjoys the summer months with us.

SACRAMENTAL CELEBRATIONS: We have welcomed many young people to the forgiving love of God in Reconciliation and to the Spirit of God in Confirmation, as well as to the Table of Eucharist. We congratulate their families for their commitment to their children and our Church. To all of our parish catechists, I express our gratitude for your commitment. ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CEMETERY: We extend gratitude to Rose Bresee for again this year being so kind in volunteering to care for the plants at our cemetery. We all benefit from this labour of generosity.

MARRIAGE BANNS

*Danielle Vaillancourt & Mathew Harper (1) KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, Council 1916, will hold their next General Meeting on Monday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Mount St. Patrick Church. Because there are no meetings in July and August, a Grand Knight’s Social will follow this meeting with a special luncheon. Members who need a ride are asked to meet at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 6:15 p.m. All members are invited to attend for an evening of fellowship and fraternalism.

LITURGICAL MINISTERS: Renewed schedules for all ministers have been prepared. I would like to express thanks to several of our volunteers who have shared in ministries for many years, some going back to the early eighties. Your choosing new ministries allows us to welcome new people. Indeed, to new and old we say “THANKS”. NEW SCHEDULES FOR ALL MINISTRIES ARE READY: READY If you have submitted your e-mail address you should receive a schedule via e-mail. Please contact the office if unable to access the e-mail schedule. Schedules for those not using e-mail may be found on the table in the main foyer.

F R A N C I S X AV I E R PA R I S H S U P P E R VEGETABLE PREPARATION: people are needed to assist with potato and carrot peeling on Saturday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. Please consider coming over to the Small Hall after the Saturday Mass with your vegetable peeler and helping out. The more who come out, the quicker the task will be completed. FOOD DROP OFF: for the supper is Saturday, June 13th between 3:30-5:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 10th between 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. TAKE-OUT MEALS: to order take-out meals please call 613-432-5825 Ext. 2 anytime during office hours (day of or prior to June 8th). Delivery available.
