January – March 2019
Greetings from the Southern Andes. Dena and I are enjoying the warm weather, but winter is on it way. We have a lot to write about, but we will try to keep our newsletter to one page. Meet Carlitos: This sweet and spunky little boy is five years old and attends one of our bible clubs about 2 hours from Cuenca. He was severely burned on the right side of his face and body by fireworks that ignited some gasoline. This happened in last August, but his family did not seek help until late November, as they did not have money for medical care. Last month his family asked us for help, so we helped him with his next treatment at about $350, but then sought out an organization of Gringo’s in Ecuador that we met a couple of years ago. Praise the Lord Helping Children in Ecuador agreed to take his case and take over the medical care and treatments for Carlitos. (We purposely did not
Bible Club Outings: Our Ladies Bible Club enjoyed a special dinner and message by our friends, the LaBouef’s. The Youth also enjoyed a time of fellowship with bowling and pizza. Welcome Gonzalo and Jenny to Pate Ministries: For those of you who have been to our bible clubs in Belén or Ñamarín; you have probably met Gonzalo and Jenny. In this area, there are fourteen villages with NO Evangelical church. Praise the Lord; we recently had a church sponsor the salary for Gonzalo to work full time in ministry in these fourteen (total) villages. Gonzalo was bi-vocational, but now he and Jenny are a part of Pate Ministries. The plan is to reach the villages with the gospel of Jesus Christ, starting house churches and bible clubs. Please pray for them and Pate Ministries to reach these communities with the Gospel of Jesus.

The best way to keep up with all that God is doing through Pate Ministries is to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
What have we been doing: We have been busy with our bible clubs and hosting the first teams, including our Pastor Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr., and his wife Mrs. Lisa. We dedicated Gospel study books and Dr. Reavis encourage a group of Quichua house church pastors and leaders in Bibilan. We also dedicated the expansion project at the church at Bella Union. Thank you to those who gave to these two projects.
Prayer Request: Please pray that God would draw the hearts of the children and adults in which we work with to Him!
