About the Ingelectra Conference
The Universidad de La Frontera IEEE Student Branch, is inviting undergraduate and postgraduate students to participate in a new version of the Ingelectra Student Conference. This Conference allows students of the Electric Engineering and Informatics areas to participate of lectures and seminars at the forefront of topics that will mark the future of young professionals.
Activities that will be held at the Conference
Papers Contest: Undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to file in investigation works related to the IEEE areas. Prizes will be awarded to the best places in each category. For more information, please look at the Contest Bases in this document. Industry seminars: Important Chilean industries will present specific industry issues, along with the current or to be implemented solutions. Stands de empresas: Alongside the Conference, several companies will show products and services that use resources from the fields of Electrical Engineering and Informatics on a daily basis. Presentations and Lectures: Chilean and foreign professionals will speak about the challenges that move engineers from around the globe, everyday, to advance in specific topics.
Registration Rates
A registration is required for those who want to assist. There are special discounts for students and professionals that are members of IEEE. Accommodation in the city of Temuco and a camaraderie dinner are also available, at an additional cost. Those participating in the Paper Contest will not pay additional values, furthermore, the camaraderie dinner price will be discounted to any student presenting a paper in the areas of the Contest. The inscription rates are detailed below:

Notes:
The prices include a handbag, folder with information of the Conference and the city and a participation certificate.
The camaraderie dinner has an additional cost of $8 USD, value that will not be charged to expositors of the Paper Contest. *Late Registration: If a registration is made during the days of the Conference (August 22, 23, 24) it will be considered as a Late Inscription.

Paper Contest Basis IEEE – INGELECTRA Paper Contest Basis 1. Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of engineering degrees, bachelors, or postgraduate programs in electricity, electronics or informatics can participate, of any University accredited in its country of origin. 2. The selection and presentation of the papers will be taken by the academic authorities, coordinators and directors of each specialty. The responsibility of the organization and promotion of the Contest at the internal level will fell upon the IEEE Student Branch of Universidad de la Frontera. 3. The undergraduate and postgraduate works entitled to participate are those sent before the Contest Deadline and complying with the IEEE document style, indicated at point 6. The authors of the papers must be exclusively students, being only one author responsible, and the rest being co authors. 4. The works sent will be considered final, without right to further revision or correction by the authors, and with those the Reviewing Committee will approve or reject its participation in the contest. 5. The following aspects will be considered in the reviewed papers: Originality, Theoretical Background, Presentation, Industry Applicability and Scientific Advance, aspects that will be weighted as detailed in the included table. 6. The papers must be sent to the Student Branch of Universidad de la Frontera, with a copy of the work in IEEE format (6 pages máx. double column), along with an abstract to the following email address:
[email protected], in PDF format, Time New Roman font, 12 pts. In addition, a 60 cms. x 120 cms. poster with a summary of the work must be sent, as it will be exhibit at the Conference. Furthermore, a registration document copy of the author(s) most be sent, along with their addresses and phone numbers. Shipping expenses of any kind will not be pay by the IEEE Student Branch of Universidad de La Frontera. 7. At least one of the authors must assume responsibility, in case of being selected, of presenting the work during the Conference Days, August 22, 23 and 24 of 2007. In case of absence of the expositor during the days of the event. all rights over the presentation will be lost. 8. The deadline for submission of papers for the Contest will be on July 14 of 2007. 9. The Reviewing Committee, conformed by members of IEEE Chile Section and Universidad de la Frontera, will deliver a verdict about wining papers and their order at the last day of the Conference. 10. Papers awarded with the first, second and third places will receive prizes, in both categories (Undergraduate and Postgraduate). 11. The prizes for the wining works will be given by IEEE Chile. In addition, a certificate be given to both winners and participants of the Contest. 12. Contest places can be declared deserted, if the Reviewing Committee considers that as such. 13. The Chile Section of IEEE and the Student Branch of IEEE reserve the rights to modify the dates and program of of the event. 14. Prizes will be awarded during the days of the XXIII Ingelectra 2007 Conference. taking place in Temuco, from 22 to 24 August 2007.
