5) Store department. 1. M/C Shop : ITL industries is engaged in manufacturing of Band saw Machines. The major Components of band saw machines are manufactured by ITL. We found following machines in the Machine shop of ITL. 1) Lath machine 2) Jig Boring Machine. 3) CNC machine. 4) Horizontal Milling M/C 5) BFW machines ( Multipurpose ) 6) Vertical Milling M/C 7) Shaper machine 8) Lath machine 9) Cylindrical grinding machine 2. Painting shop : The various parts of Band saw machine are made up of steel. For long lasting performance of machine parts. They are painted with various colour. Painting not only prevent the corrosion of machine part but it also adds some aesthetic value to it. 3. Inspection Shop. Various parts manufactured in machine shop and parts purchased from various venders are inspected in machine shop. Basically two kinds of measurements are done. i)

Whether the parts are manufactured with the given tolerance limits are checked.

ii)

Surface finish and texture of manufactured parts are checked.

4) Assembly Shop : All the components of band saw machines are assembled together in Assembly shop. Not only mechanical but also the electrical and electronics components are assembled here. 5) Store Department : Many times the manufactured components are not assembled at the same time they are manufactured. Such components are stored in store department unless and untill they are not required. Besides storing, stores department keeps the record of every component manufactured with in factory or purchased from any outside vendor. 6) Material Handling : We found hand operated trolleys, overhead travelling electric cranes and winches in ITL. 7) Quality Policy of ITL : Mr. Rajendra Jain ( Managing Director of ITL ) framed quality policy for company in July 22 1997 as follows.
