How do you balance your personal life and professional life? I guess you do the  best  you  can.  Keeping  a  fun,  rewarding personal life can be blurred by all of the work related stress that everyone feels. Whether you are business owner, or work for someone else it is hard to feel that your work doesn't take over your life. I don't know about other people, but I feel like I should work to have a great personal life. I don't want to be a person who is a slave to my job. Even if you don't love what you do, or where you work, you can make a decision to love your life for everything that is in it. Take the good with the bad and never forget that if you have all fun and great things going on, then it will be harder to appreciate those things. So after you put in a long day working, remember to pick up an In Akron Magazine and find your fun places to go and things to do all over the city.

BARTENDER OF THE WEEK

JOKE OF THE WEEK

Working Late

Holy

Read this, its funny Three girls all worked in the same office with the same female boss. Each day, they noticed the boss left work early. One day, the girls decided that, when the boss left, they would leave right behind her. After all, she never called or came back to work, so how would she know they went home early?  The brunette was thrilled to be home early. She did a little gardening, spent playtime with her son, and went to bed early. The redhead was elated to be able to get in a quick workout at the spa before meeting a dinner date. The blonde was happy to get home early and surprise her husband, but when she got to her bedroom, she heard a muffled noise from inside. Slowly and quietly, she cracked open the door and was mortified to see her husband in bed with her boss! Gently, she closed the door and crept out of her house.  The next day, at their coffee break, the brunette and redhead planned to leave early again, and they asked the blonde if she was going to go with them. "No way," the blonde exclaimed. "I almost got caught yesterday!"

INTERESTING ARTICLE

Santa’s Schedule We broke down the math to show you how awesome Santa is Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 822.6 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with good children, Santa has 1/1000th of a second to park, hop out of the sleigh, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute  the  remaining  presents  under  the  tree,  eat  whatever snacks have been left, get back up the chimney, get back into the sleigh and move on to the next house. Assuming that each of  these  91.8  million  stops  are  evenly  distributed  around  the earth (which, of course, we know to be false but for the purposes of our calculations we will accept), we are now talking about .78 miles per household, a total trip of 75-1/2 million miles, not counting stops to do what most of us must do at least once every 31 hours, plus feeding and etc. This means that Santa's sleigh is moving  at  650  miles  per  second,  3,000  times  the  speed  of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle on earth, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a pokey 27.4 miles per second - a conventional reindeer can run, tops, 15 miles per hour. Thank you Santa for by Justin being so magical!

ARTIST OF THE WEEK

Sara Risner A local gem Sara Risner is our cover story of the week and an upcoming star. I spent some time on her myspace looking around, and listening to her songs. Her music is reminiscent of artists like Sara Mclaughlan, and Tori Amos, but she wants to be known as her own sound. She says "They sound like themselves and I sound like myself. Each individual has their own portal for artistic creation."  Her new album called "Take Me Down" is available on Dec. 23rd. "Take Me Down is an 11 song record composed of lyrics, chord progressions, and images that I am very proud of. I personally hand wrote the lyrics and constructed the artwork for the liner. I am ecstatic with the outcome of my work and can not wait to get it into your hands, your ears, and your soul." Risner says about her impending album release. Sara is currently not signed to a record label, which I am sure will change after her new album drops. There are few CD's that I can say I liked all the songs on it and play them over and over. If her new album has songs like the ones she showcases on her myspace page, then I am sure I will have the repeat button on. Check Sara out this Sat. Dec. 27th at the Getaway Pub in the valley. She also has a slew of upcoming performances all over Akron. Check out her myspace page at myspace.com/sararisner for her upcoming concerts as well as to listen to a handful of her songs. Don't forget to buy her CD at her shows too, but make sure you tell her you saw her IN Akron!
