Implementation Steps Step 1: Contact classroom teacher and principal and brief them on the objectives of capstone project. Ask permission to execute objectives and assessments as outlined in Phase 2 and Phase 3. Step 2: Select class period and lesson plans for 5 weeks for the project to implement objectives and assessment created in Phase 2. Step 3: Create log-in and passwords for all students participating in project to access online textbook at www.phschool.com Step 4: Up load Virtual Labs and Labs Simulations into teacher’s website under the school website for student access. Step 5: Classroom teacher and I will do a walk through/dry run of accessing both online textbook and virtual labs. (Parent/Teacher Conference scheduled for school October 27-28, no school for students) Step 6: Introduce myself to students and the use of the online textbook. Give students there log-in and password. Discuss online etiquette and the use of computers in the classroom. Send notice of Acceptable Use Policy home with students for parents to sign. Signed sheets to be turned in by October 31, 2008. Step 7: Students will turn in AUP to classroom teacher. Step 8. Create online classroom through Prentice Hall and upload lesson plans. Step 9: Introduce class on how to access online textbook and virtual labs using the Prentice Hall website and the school website. Step 10: Classroom teacher will conduct first lesson plan on Unit 4, Genetics. Assign assignments to be completed using the online textbook. Step 11: Students will be assessed using a rubric and quizzes provided by the classroom teacher. The same quiz will be conducted 5X in each lesson. Step 12: Classroom teacher will conduct second and third lessons plan. Step 13: Students will be assessed using a rubric and quizzes provided by the classroom teacher. The same quiz will be conducted 5X in each lesson. Step 14: Classroom teacher will conduct the final lesson plan and assess students accordingly for this Unit 4. (End of second grading period)
