VISION JRU will be a market leader in the use of technology for innovation in teaching and learning to produce graduates of social importance. MISSION The University aims to develop its students to become useful and responsible citizens through the effective transfer of relevant knowledge and desirable values. INSTITUTIONAL OUTCOME A JRU graduate has the competencies and values in the disciplinal area completed such that he/she is a useful and responsible citizen of the country. SUBJECT DESCRIPTION Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior High School student has to undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates to the student’s postsecondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to and become familiar with work-related environment related to their field of specialization to enhance their competence. Specifically, the students are able to: (i) gain relevant and practical industrial skills under the guidance of industry experts and workers;(ii) appreciate the importance and application of the principles and theories taught in school; (iii) enhance their technical knowledge and skills; (iv) enrich their skills in communications and human relations; and (v) develop good work habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work. These prepare them to meet the needs and challenges of employment or higher education after graduation.

PREFACE

Work Immersion has been added to the curriculum of the Senior High School to help the students to enrich its skills and ethics to be able to use it in the future purposes. It has been added due to the experience that the student will gain from it. Were students should be able to finish the 80 hours to complete its work immersion. Work immersion for me is helpful especially to students that are still confuse of their course that they are going to choose in college. Because thru work immersion they will be exposed to a field where they are not familiar. Especially in my case it really helps me due to seeing the employee there on what they are doing the fact that they are all BSA graduates which is my desired course really me decide. I conducted my work immersion in Filinvest wherein it is a real estate development and sales, hotel and resort management, commercial banking, financial, insurance, information technology services, refining and milling, and power which is in Mandaluyong City.

WORK IMMERSION REQUIREMENTS

WORK IMMERSION DAILY EXPERIENCE

DAY 1: JANUARY 14. 2019

LEARNINGS

REFLECTION

On the first day what Mam Pau told us to do is to check if the encoded details from the ORs are correct also we will check there when it is posted to guide is in compiling the ORs.

It’s a good experience for me to improve my skills especially they are all professionals that they are really guiding us well.

DAY 2: JANUARY 15. 2019

LEARNINGS

On the second day I learn some terminologies in the field of Accountancy that I am not yet familiar with. One of them is the term “transmittal” it’s like a summary of all the ORs that are received in the same day to avoid confusion. Also, I was able to see some of the spreadsheets in there that they are using in their work.

REFLECTION

For me I gain additional knowledge that I can use in some instances or in my college career. So that when I get to encounter those things, I will be familiar with it.

DAY 3: JANUARY 16. 2019

LEARNINGS

On the third day. I continued my task in compiling all the transmittals and ORs on the month of January until July 2018.

REFLECTION

The important thing I realized is that don’t rush on things because it might end up in a bad ending or cause. Always stick to the plan and avoid panicking. Just focus and do the assigned task don’t mind doing unnecessary things.

DAY 4: JANUARY 17. 2019

LEARNINGS

On the fourth day I finished compiling the ORs from the month of July is in a separate box from the First one that I finished on the third day. In addition to I help Jake finish compiling August but before that I ask permission from Ms. Pau if I can help then she allowed me.

REFLECTION

For me teamwork is important especially in our case on this day I already finished what I am doing. So, I initiated to help Jake so that we will finish his task on time. Its also a good factor that we are improving our teamwork particularly we only have the same task.

DAY 5: JANUARY 18. 2019

LEARNINGS

REFLECTION

On the fifth day because we were able to finish compiling all the ORs from the month of July and August Mam Pau ask us to file all the ORs that has the same posted date and month.

Teamwork would be a big factor here because Jake and I are in the same department it’s a big advantage for us because we can work as a team and finish the task on time.

DAY 6: JANUARY 21. 2019

LEARNINGS

On the Sixth day Mam Pau gave us the month of August and September to check if the details encoded are all correct also, we will look when it is posted.

REFLECTION

Patience will also be a big factor here because there are times that tired and thought of not finishing it, but I just kept on thinking that I will finish this on time, and I will not let my laziness take over me.

DAY 7: JANUARY 22. 2019

LEARNINGS

REFLECTION

On the Seventh day we compiled the month of August because we already finished compiling it and checking the details encoded.

In the 7th day in every time you keep your consistency it will be your key into a better you. Especially in my case I am consistent in finishing my tasks on time also keeping in touch with my to do task in a day.

DAY 8: JANUARY 23. 2019

LEARNINGS

REFLECTION

On the eight day we started compiling the month of March, June and July. Mam Pau gave us those three months to finish is because those are all mixed when given to us, and we need to look for what OR is in the month of March, June or July.

I will work hard for everything that I am doing especially in the eight day of our immersion because we must distinguish what OR is in the month of March, June or July.

DAY 9: JANUARY 24. 2019

LEARNINGS

REFLECTION

On the ninth day Jake and I filed the ORs from the month of January, March, April and May of 2018.

It was our last two days in Filinvest but still we gave our best not just to impress but also to keep their good impressions to JRU students.

DAY 10: JANUARY 25. 2019

LEARNINGS

REFLECTION

On the last day of our immersion we continued our task from the ninth day. since we were able to finish our task early. Mam Pau told us to File the months of June, July, and August because they are finished compiling and it is needed to be filed.

I realized here in our last day is that we must always be passionate with what we are doing because if were passionate with we are doing it just means that we love and were happy with what we are doing. In our last day in Filinvest I observed that all of their employees are happy and satisfied because they are all passionate with, they are doing.

WORK IMMERSION HIGHLIGHTS

HIGHLIGHTS

First, the orientation that we had on our first day for me that is important. Because the fact that it is our first time to conduct our immersion thru the orientation, we were able to adjust on the system and to avoid misunderstandings. Second, all the learnings that I gather not just in academics but also mentally and emotionally. Third, for me my experience in Filinvest really helps me to think on what path will I take in college. Because I were designated to the COMMISSION, INVENTORY AND DATA CONTROL (CIDC) the fact they are all graduates of BSA I had that idea on what will be the possible thing that can happen to me when I chose the course of BSA.

Fourth, my first day in Filinvest for me it is a highlight of my immersion because it's all about being introduced to a new environment that I’ve never been before. Lastly, all the people their Mam Pau and Mam Vangie also Ate Dazzle, Raquel and Ate Issa also Kuya Gilbert. All of them really treated us well and they are all kind to us. Especially Mam Pau and Kuya Gilbert because we got to talk with them to have an advice on what to do and not to do in college.
