Working Portfolio #3 Due Thursday 11/13 at the start of class For Working Portfolio #3, you will either write three papers or write two papers and give Zobel one verbal book review. All students must write papers A and B. If you opt to do the book review, then you are opting out of writing paper C. This is not a group project. You must fly solo on these papers. These papers may not be rewrites of the group papers.
Here are the paper assignments: Paper assignment #A: Write a persuasive paper around the general theme of food or games. You need to include/cite at least 3 reliable sources. The paper must be specific, focused, and engaging. Confirm your topic via email with Zobel before you progress past the SFD. Paper assignment #B: Write an analytical paper on a topic of your choice. You must confirm the topic choice with Greg. No papers on abortion, gun control, gay marriage, or pot legalization. The paper must be specific, focused, and engaging. Do NOT try and take on world peace or a crusade for fairly priced designer jeans—have a focused, manageable topic that you can discuss in 1,300 words. Confirm your topic via email with Zobel before you progress past the SFD. Paper assignment #C: Conduct a rhetorical analysis of a video at YouTube. The video must be less than 90 seconds long. Confirm your topic via email with Zobel before you progress past the SFD. The drafts for each paper must have the following word counts: Final Draft 5 pages/1,300 words Revised Draft 3 pages/800 words SFD 2 pages/500 words You must also have the following forms for each of the three papers: 1 peer feedback form 1 instructor feedback form These forms can be downloaded from the class blog and will be available in class. The WP must also include 8 pages of ICWs. These are worth 2 points. Each paper is worth 6 points. A book review may be substituted for paper #3.
