Meaning of strategic HRD The identification of needed skills and active management of learning for the long future in relation to explicit corporate and business strategy. It involves introducing, eliminating, modifying, directing, and guiding process. It is a stream of decision and actions with leads to the development of an effective strategy or strategies to help achieve corporate objectives.

Strategy formulation • Determination of mission or purpose • Environmental scanning • Organizational analysis • Developing strategic alternatives • Evaluation of strategic alternatives • Choice of strategy • Execution of strategic planning

Aims of strategic HRD • The fundamental aim of strategic HRD is

to enhance capability in accordance with belief • Specific objectives of strategic HRD is intellectual capital & promote organization.

Strategies for HRD • Raising awareness of the need for a

learning culture that leads to continuous improvement • Expand learning capacity throughout the organization • Focus on all the organization’s knowledge workers, not just the key personnnel

Development steps • Agree on the strategy-making team • Clarify organizational mission • Explore core values • Identify the strategic issues facing the organization • Agree on strategy and strategic plan
