After Officer Academy and graduation in Aerospace Engineering from the University of the German Armed Forces, his Air Force assignments included engineering and Technical Officer in Air Force Wings, program manager for the Tornado weapon release system, and project / acquisition Officer with the Office of the General for German Luftwaffe Procurement and Acquisitions. For three years, Helmut was Liaison Officer for the Tornado development and production program with EDO Corporation, New York, NY. Helmut joined DIEHL VA (then BGT) in 1983 after his military career. Helmut has held a variety of positions with DIEHL VA Systems in Überlingen, Germany, including Business Development Manager and Director of the Missiles Systems business unit at BGT which manages development and production of airborne and other complex defense systems. Helmut Schöpf was founding the joint venture of Diehl Raytheon in 2004 and was the President and Managing Director of Diehl Raytheon Missile Systeme GmbH, Überlingen, Germany. Helmut left the industrial sector in 2007 to initiate with his associates ATRIKON Business Development and Consulting. There he engages in the field of advanced and innovative technologies and processes for aviation, energy and infrastructure utilizing his comprehensive global network. Helmut was born in 1948 in Heidelberg,Germany. He married his wife Doris in 1970 and has two sons. .
