Summary: Responsible for ensuring that financial information is processed in accordance with stated firm’s policies Responds to routine enquiries from staff / customers and suppliers and investigates as required. Observe and maintain client confidentiality. Provide advice to managers and staff on relevant financial issues. Ensures financial information is completed in accordance with firm’s timelines.

 Duties   

 

Maintaining & Updating sales & Purchase Books Preparation of purchase orders Verification and collection of supporting documents (purchase orders, invoices, claims, receipts, authorization for expenditure…) Preparing quotations to be offered to clients Investigating and answering routine queries arising from Management and other Finance staff as well as external bodies .

 

 

To attend finance meetings and document key information and decisions as required. To apply basic accounting knowledge and techniques to all areas of work, including the production of journals, routine costing and variance analysis. To input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy. To sometimes work long and irregular hours in order to meet the finance accounting service in times of audit, taking into account any staff sickness or absences.

Knowledge & Skill  Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures, Financial Reporting, Costing  To have knowledge and awareness of the application of relevant national accounting standards Good level of competence in basic Excel, Word and Tally.  Good keyboard skills.  Good communication and listening skills.  Good organisational skills used in planning own work.

Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualification  B.com. Graduate/C.A. Inter/Diploma holder in Accounting  Computer knowledge: Word, Excel, Tally Experience 1 year experience desirable

Personal Qualities  Calm and professional disposition.  Self motivated and enthusiastic.  Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.  Able to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration, while coping with frequent interruptions.  Able to respond effectively to changing priorities.  Able to work effectively with minimal management guidance / supervision.  Willingness to accept responsibility.  Logical and systematic in work processes.  Good analytical ability.  Good problem solving ability.
