Successful Single Living Workshop We will meet Saturday, January 17th, from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Community Room. We will watch a Nooma film and then discuss it. For more info, contact Randy at 720/771-0414.

Support Group for Caregivers Meets Mon, Jan 12th, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the Community Room. This is a monthly support group for those providing care to an aged or chronically ill loved one, while losing sight of themselves. Elder care is available upon request. I write today realizing that the days of our tenure here are quickly coming to an end. I can’t help but reflect on the past 15+ years with great gratitude for the opportunity to serve as pastor at DFC. Jane and I are looking forward to the days ahead. We have a new grandbaby on the way in a few days as well as the necessity to take care of our aging parents back in Kansas. We’ve let that burden fall on our siblings for so long and now we hope to spend some time helping with some tough decisions there. I’m also excited about the future of DFC. I truly believe that God has a person already being prepared to be your next pastor. In my imagination, he’s serving a wonderful church, but he too is feeling a sense of release and wondering what his next assignment will be. He’s going to love you and he’s going to love Denver. He’s going to find the greatest challenge of his life here. I’ve used the term “bullet-proof.” As a young person, he’s feeling bullet-proof and will find the new assignment an exciting challenge. When he comes here for his first Sunday and walks into this majestic sanctuary it’s going to take his breath away. When he stands to preach that day and looks into the faces of a wonderful congregation, he’s going to know that he’s “home.” Now, understand that I’ve used the word “he” in this little paragraph, but what if it would end up being a “she.” Wow! That would set precedent. I encourage you to stay on your faces before God praying for DFC these next few months. Remember, “The Best Is Yet To Be.”

DFC Women’s Book Club This has been moved from January 8th to Thursday, January 22nd. Meet at 6:30 pm in the NE Fellowship Hall. The book is Divine, by Karen Kingsbury and it is available in the DFC Bookstore. For more info, please contact Merilee at 303/761-1312.

Single’s Planning Meeting Meet in the Community Room on Sunday, January 25th following the morning service. Bring a brown bag lunch. We’ll work on planning events for the Singles group. More info: Blanche at 303/829-8894. Women’s Time to Connect Ladies of DFC...Time to Connect is moving to Tuesday nights! Our first meeting in 2009 will be Tuesday, January 20th. We will meet from 6:30-8:30 pm in the Community Room. Come join us for fellowship, a service project and prayer. What better time to start on unity among the family than this! 4 Week Membership Class Membership class to be taught by Pastor Bud Curry will begin on Sunday, January 18th at 9:00 am. Singles Bowling Party Meet on Saturday, January 24th at the Monaco Lanes at 3:00 pm for an afternoon of bowling! We’ll go out for dinner afterwards. Bring $10 for bowling and money for dinner. All proceeds go to benefit ongoing DFC ministries in the Congo and Palomas, Mexico. General admission - NO CHARGE, tickets not required. A free-will offering will be received. 6:00 pm concert - doors open at 5:30 pm for general admission. “Artist Circle” - $25 + $12 each additional family member: includes up-front concert seating, exclusive seating for 4:00 pm shooting of Orchestra Iso-Segments and DVD when it is completed.
