The Rainbow Drags Over Sleepless Night -- GLBT Events at the Colorful Cultural All-Nighter -Miami Beach, FL – This year’s event includes programming specifically for the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender (GLBT) community. From a Rainbow Circus to drag queens to the Gay Men’s Chorus, they will be some of the many unforgettable arts and entertainment experiences presented for all tastes and all ages, all night long, all for free, the Audi Sleepless Night. Miami Beach’s free, 13-hour, dusk-til-dawn, citywide celebration of the arts, begins at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. OCEAN DRIVE SHOWGROUND (between 11th + 12th Streets) Rainbow Circus presents “Dreamicus” 8:45 p.m. Producer Laurie Allen of South Florida Circus Arts School presents the debut of Rainbow Circus, featuring Judge David Young as Ringmaster and Special Guest Star Aerialist Elaine Lancaster! David Kingerly, Lori Lynch, Paul Anderson, Benjamin Antipuna and TNT, and Kriston Arrow have donated their time to create a spectacular vision of dreams and nightmares expressed through classic circus arts, including aerial tissu, corde lisse, trapeze and lyra. Elvis, Michael Jackson, hula hoop routines, drag burlesque, Spiderman, contortionists and human animals are all part of a show you’ll never forget. www.Sfcas.com COLONY THEATRE (Limited seating – first come, first served) Tropical Wave Productions, FUNDarte and Miami ARTzine present “A Taste of ‘Out in the Tropics’” featuring BETTY, Miami Gay Men’s Chorus, and surprise guests 10:00 p.m. Gender-bending, great music, lots of laughs and some powerful takes on history and sexual identity are all part of this Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender performing arts showcase, starring famed women-led pop-rock group BETTY. It is produced by the City of Miami Beach Department of Tourism and Cultural Development and Cultural Arts Council in collaboration with every cultural organization in the city, together with private businesses and individuals. It offers free museum admissions, indoor and outdoor art installations and performances, architectural tours, dance (and dancing,) theater, music, film, slam poetry, fashion shows, acrobatics, comedy and other cultural offerings, all presented without admission charge at over 80 different venues spread throughout the city and the 13-hour night. Free shuttle buses with onboard arts programming connect the various zones of activity and remote parking for the duration of the event.
