Better is One Day How lovely is Your dwelling place Oh Lord Almighty, For my soul longs, And even faints For You Oh, here my heart Is satisfied Within Your presence I sing beneath The shadow of Your wings Better is one day in Your courts Better is one day in Your house Better is one day in Your courts Than thousands elsewhere Better is one day in Your courts Better is one day in Your house Better is one day in Your courts Than thousands elsewhere One thing I ask, And I would seek, To see Your beauty To find You in The place Your glory dwells One thing I ask, And I would seek, To see Your beauty

One day every tongue will confess You are God. One day every knee will bow. Still the greatest treasure remains for those Who gladly choose you now.

Back to the Basics: Prayer

5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.  6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.  7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.  14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:  15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have ommitted sins, they shall be forgiven him.  16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

without ceasing.

1 Timothy 2:1-8  1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;  2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.  5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.  7Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.  8I will therefore that men pray
