Area and Geographical Situation
Situation of Gazirpara: It is situated, on the bank of river Borobhga in eastsouthern side of ward No-6 of Silam Union Council No -5 (Previously -13) of Dakshin Surma Upzilla of Dist- Sylhet, that is called the holy place of Hazrat shah Jalal and his 360 followers, place of tea and orange and also 2n London of Bangladesh. It is 11.50 k.m in distance from /ero point of Sylhet town, in western side of Khalomuk Bazar point, 01.50 k.m far from Khalomuk Bazar in Sylhet- Fenchugonj highway and in the eastern side of Kolabagan point, 8.25 k.m far from Kolabagan point, in Sylhet-Jalalpur highway.
In the east, village "Ulal Mohol" and river Borobhaga, HI the south.- river Borobhagha, in the west-"Utlarbon"- and village "Vangf, and in the North a small valley named "Bilchator". It is noted that in 1888. (1304 Bangla) in "month Vadra" a tenible earth quake took place in that region. That r.irth quake continued for a week. Due to earth quake, there created big holes in the crops field. Through those holes sand mines out frequently. For that reason, the name of this said field lias been identified as "Utlar bon". The area of Gazirpara village is — from the East to the \u-stcrn border (from the eastern side of Fokir Ali to the road of Ka/i A/mol Hussain's house)—0.73 k.m or 0.45 mile that is '•IOO feet 09 inches and from the south to the northern border ( I mm the bank of river Borobhaga to the house of Abdul Mukit) i\1oniratiik)-01.04 K.M. or 0.65 mile that is 3425 feet 11 M l . llCS.
