Big Island Astronomy: Keck Observatory is currently accepting applications for students ages 8-12 to join for three days of celestial education at W. M. Keck Observatory. The course offers hands-on astronomy activities and solar and evening observing. Dates: August 3, 5, 7 Time: 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Enrollment is limited. Materials fee $50. •

Every student participates in PE. The requirement varies per grade level but is between 30 and 60 minutes a day for school days. More information about what counts as PE and the PE Logs will be provided by your student’s teacher. As a school, HTA is required to have students participate in the state mandated HSA testing program for science, writing, reading and math.
