Lesson Plan: Title: Las reglas Grade Level: K-3 Objectives: Students will be able to demonstrate proper behavior in the class. Students will be able to recall some important phrases used in the classroom. Materials: Rules poster with pictures of each rule. Flash cards for useful classroom phrases (hung on wall or cart) Procedure: 1. Greet Students: a. Greet students first in Spanish is short simply sentences. b. Reintroduce yourself in English and greet students again. (This will be the only day that a greeting in English will be done.) 2. Introduce Rules: a. Read students rules. b. Use puppets or a doll to show what each rules means. c. If students do not understand a rule, ask a student to please explain the rule in English. (If no student can do this, explain the rule in English as a last resort.) 3. Introduce Classroom Phrases: a. Show students pictures of these questions or responses and have students repeat each phrase. i. ¿Puedo ir al baño? ii. ¿Puedo pasar los papeles? iii. No sé la respuesta. iv. No entiendo. 4. Conclusion: a. Ask students to share the words they know in Spanish. b. Go around the class and have each student say one word they know in Spanish. c. If a student doesn’t know any word in Spanish, instruct them to say “paso” when it is their turn.
