Finding Fulfillment Psalm 127: 1-2 1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat� for he grants sleep to[a] those he loves. Where do you go to find relief, peace and comfort? Are you looking for happiness through other people, a possession, or some kind of pleasure? Are you searching for your worth through your work? I - Am I Significant? * The psalmist tells us that "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." * We all want our contribution to count, for our existence to leave a legacy. Unfortunately, many of us are seeking significance apart from the Lord and as a result our work and effort was all in vain. Only when we allow the Lord to do His building through us will we find significance. II - Do i have Security? * The second part of the line says "Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. " * No matter how hard we strive to find security, apart from the Lord we are in a very uncertain position. That is why we need to submit to the Lord�s watch and trust that He will provide our security. III - Where can I Find Satisfaction? * The second line states "In vain you to eat � for he grants sleep to those who is all stressed out, not sleeping * God gives satisfaction to those who who are try to do everything in their
rise early and stay up late, toiling for food he loves." The psalmist is describing someone and not enjoying his food. have learned to trust in Him, not to those own strength.
