Find Your Double

Find your double.

1. Aims of the activity: The activity can be used as a warm-up exercise or conversation starter with advanced students. It can also be used to practice asking and answering questions with intermediate or beginner classes.

2. Instructions: 1. Begin by telling students that they have a double in the class. 2. Distribute a handout containing personal information such as age, name, nationality, occupation, interests, etc. 3. Each student should have a handout. 4. Students are given a minute to read their information in order to become comfortable with their new identity and think of appropriate questions to ask others. 5. When they are ready, they must leave their paper behind and mingle with the other students in order to find their double, the person with exactly the same information. 6. They can only do this by asking questions. 7. When they find the double, they can sit down. 8. Ask students to determine their identity (each pair is someone famous)
