ARC309- DESIGN THEORY AND CRITICISM
ABSTRACTIn this research report the cause of need of development of smart cities is discussed and the effects of the style of human settlement in that city are taken out. The role of green buildings in smart city , influence of green buildings in that city, environmental or social impacts is discussed. Moreover, why the need of smart city is required is also catered out and the solution for the fastener the development of smart cities is also discussed. In this report, the major impacts of building in the cities are the carbon prints as the overloading of sewage waste output and the high demand of electricity and infrastructure. Rural areas are now getting converted into urban areas or the areas just around the urban boundary.

INTRODUCTIONThis report is totally based on the role of green buildings in the smart cities. India has announced 100+ cities which are changing into smart cities. Ludhiana is one of the cities in that list. The aim of the conversion of the cities into smart cities is to give human comfort life in dense and highly populated cities. in the development of smart cities green buildings plays an important role in that development. As we know the maximum carbon print is from buildings to the environment. Therefore the maximum role of environmental impacts on city is of buildings. More The self energy efficient building is, lesser will be the electricity demand, therefore that saved electricity could be used for the public transportation means. More the greenery should be, more will be the sustainable balance between human and environment. The increasing of water pollution, air pollution, and soil pollution are the major cause of human diseases. These are the only causes due to which redevelopment of that particular city is needed. That’s the one of the main reason why that cities are kept in smart cities.

PROBLEM ANALYSIS/ LITERATURE REVIEWWhile making this research report major issues that faced were the lack of data analysis available in the government websites. The data required for the calculation for the number of dwelling units required by next years is taken as the estimation process. There is no direct data available that how much any building is producing carbon foot print in that particular area.
OBJECTIVESThe main objective of this report is that to find out easiest way for the fastening of the development of any smartcity. Moreover, the role/ importance of green building in smart city is also kept at its main objective.
HYPOTHESESThe hypotheses of this report is that to study of role of green buildings in smart city and to study the methods of development of the smart city and easiest way of development of smart cities.
LIMITATIONSThe collection of research data for this report is kept limited. Means, the research boundary is kept limited i.e. the research is based on the particular area of the smart city.

METHODOLOGYAt the first stage of the research report, the crisis is calculated for that smart city. After getting the data about the sex ratio, age difference, users type etc then the calculation of the per capita area demand is calculated. In the smart cities the highly dense areas where the urban heat effect is more , population is more, the sewage input is more or the carbon footprint is more. After getting the data collection of users then the carbon footprint data is collected in which the electric demand , water demand and the human comfort is calculated. After that the green building construction techniques and its cost is calculated so that it could be seen that the how much construction cost differs as the ordinary building and the green building. There is very much need of the green buildings and the energy efficient buildings in any sustainable cities. After that the general calculation is made-up for the production of electrical energy according to the human need in any particular building.
RESULTSIn this report the construction of green buildings or energy efficient energy building should be promoted in any undergoing development city. Moreover the migration of the peoples should be minimized from the rural to urban areas. Because this is only factor which effects the

planning of the city. Migration is not constant for any time it varies due to the poor infrastructure in rural areas as compare to urban areas.
CONCLUSSIONDuring the redevelopment of the smart city, the traffic should be catered out by widening the roads. Government should give residential sectors in the outer city portion and should develop sub-urban areas in the outer part of city so that to stop the creation of slum. Carbon footprint should be minimized at any cost. By creating awareness in the peoples about the environment and the water demand of the users.
