ABSTRACT The Supermarket Management System is a project that deals with supermarket automation and it includes both purchasing and selling of items. This project is designed with a goal to make the existing system more Informative, Reliable, Fast and Easier. There are many reasons for the starting of the project because in the selling of items through the manual system of salesperson faces a lot of inefficiencies. It requires handling of large record books that consist of both irrelevant and important information’s thus making it difficult to find out the required information as per necessity.

This is also a clumsy and untidy process that disturbs the smooth flow of work. But this system introduced by us will reduce the huge number of paper works while on the other side there are many more problems that persist in the manual system. They reduce efficiency as well as the productivity level of human. Administrative Module, Purchase Module, Employee Module, Sales Module and Billing Module are some of the various modules that make up our project. The administrators consist of a unique password and names of the employees. It helps the employees to make secure login. The id’s and password’s are kept secret from others. The modules of sales and purchase include all the details of selling and purchasing. In the billing module the details of payments are clearly shown.

EXISTING SYSTEM: Many supermarkets have a lot difficult to manage the business and customer ordering and supplying the items and the bill payment process. By using manual calculation is difficult to accountant. The manual System the supermarket are inefficiencies Large records-books have to be maintained where relevant and irrelevant information has to be stored which is very untidy and clumsy process the owner has difficult to known about profit and loss information. Less efficiency has a great impact on the productivity of any human being keeping the data up to-date.

DISADVANTAGES: 1. More man power. 2. Time consuming. 3. Consumes large volume of paper work. i

4. Needs manual calculations. 5. No direct role for the higher official. PROPOSED SYSTEM: Super market management system replaces the huge log books ,manual calculations ,man power and reduces the time consumed to maintain the employee ,product details and billing details i.e., invoice of each bill generated by the system .The whole system is in control of admin ,he can insert the details of employee and can create an account for each and everyone i.e., who are working in the supermarket .Registration for new employee is done by admin .There’s separate employee login so that during billing employee can login with his username ,password and can do billing from his account .These details are retrieved in sales details and admin can view the employee billing details(like for how many people he did the billing and etc..)

ADVANTAGES: 1. Easy for admin to observe every detail. 2. Effective and user friendly graphical user interface. 3. The system perform reliable, easier, fast, and more informative.
