Avelin Wong (7) Junior 2 A The effects of gambling Nowadays, gambling has been very common in the modern society . Teenagers , adults and even young children get involve in gambling .Why does this happen ? This is because parents influence their children which results them imitating their parents’ bad habits. For example , constantly lending money or going to the casino every day.
The effects of gambling differ from person to person and how they solve the issue . Someone who is addicted in gambling will gradually become mentally unstable and eventually go crazy. A gruesome outcome of gambling would be committing suicide as gamblers won’t have sufficient money to pay their debts.
Besides that , gambling can also affect our lives . Children and teenagers are often the victims as they are ignorant of what is happening around them .One is unable to live peacefully due to the effects of gambling as they will be harassed to pay their debt or threatened to be murdered . A person prone to drinking is likely to be influenced by gamblers around them . Thus, meeting their own doom.
Furthermore , families or friends will be worried if you gamble profusely and you will also be a burden to them . They might use all their savings just to help you pay your debt , resulting you and your family to be broke or the family’s business to go bankrupt .
In order to avoid getting addicted to gambling , students should be taught the effects of gambling since young and avoid being influenced by gamblers. They also need their parents’ supervision , so that they do not walk the wrong path , destroying one’s bright future.
