eServices Europa Annual Event

In the framework of the 2nd Cycle of the eServices Europa project (www.eserviceseuropa.eu) a major training, informative and networking event is organised co-hosted by the Portuguese ICT PSP National Contact Point (NCP). In line with the eServices Europa project’s major goal of supporting the network of NCPs, the session will have the shape of a two-day event where some of the most active NCPs inside the ICT PSP NCPs network will come together to strengthen their relationship, exchange ideas for the continuous development of their network, interact with their respective constituencies and receive training in key areas. In addition, they will be part of a major networking event between companies, organisations, public authorities, which will include an info session on the ICT PSP programme and presentation of success cases.

Day 1: ICT PSP NCPs training course On day one, a training session will take place, focused on some key themes such as financing sources, marketing strategies, and IPR issues. The aim of the session is to better equip the NCPs to support their local constituencies. Day 1 will also encompass a workshop focused on the activities been performed by the eServices-Europa action, especially the ones more focused on the NCPs network animation and related supporting services, such as the network webportal. Below follows a more detailed suggestion of the topics the training course will deal with: •

Business plan development - defining the Value Proposition and Position (Responding to Demand / Exploiting Opportunity, Specifying ‘drivers’ for change, Defining the market position), Estimating Returned Value (Expected Revenue, Capital / Financing Requirement operations), Necessary investment, Refining the Business Model, Presenting a Business Plan.

Marketing and Dissemination strategies - Developing a marketing plan for technological services, recruiting client companies, organization of events, business strategies and promotion of entrepreneurship and creation of new companies.



Intellectual Property rights - IPR under CIP / ICT PSP: ownership, access rights, protection, dissemination, exploitation, consortium Agreements.



Training on how to use the eServices Europa project and restricted area – website overview with particular focus on NCPs’ restricted area; how to improve it; how to put new contents; eServices Europa news alert.

Each theme will be presented by reputable experts with extensive experience and used to giving training and to supporting the European Commission services and National governments.

Day 2: Networking Session and ICT PSP CIP Call 4 Info Day Day 2 will be opened to all relevant stakeholders interested in the CIP programme and will start with an info session on the ICT PSP CIP Call 4. Then there will be a brief presentation of financing/funding opportunities, followed by the presentation of a number of success stories1 by e-services related projects funded under EC programs, which are now self sustainable and/or which had a significant impact in their fields and/or communities.

each NCP participating in the session will be entitled to bring a “champion” (namely a representative of a particularly successful project carried out under the CIP programme or the former eTEN programme) to present their better practices and promote their results and future actions.

After the best practices presentation, a networking session will take place, where participants will have the chance to network, exchange ideas and establish contacts that can lead to opportunities such as projects collaboration. Besides National Contact Points and ICT PSP call stakeholders, this session is addressed to regional and national authorities, investors (such as venture capitalists and business angels), research centres and other stakeholders who have an interest in the deployment and development of eServices.
