Exegesis What are we talking about? The process of explaining a text by drawing out its meaning “Exegesis” - from the Greek words: “Ex” – out and
“Hegeisthai” – to lead, or guide
Exegesis Who can do it?
Common assumptions by preachers: Very complex & very time consuming! Easier to let commentaries do the job for them!

The truth of the matter: The Bible’s meaning is accessible to all It does not require a whole library of books!
