THEOLOGICAL COURSES following
THE CURRICULUM SYLLABUS of Gujranwala Theological Seminary Pakistan Compiled by:
Rev. P.C.J. Burgess, M.A. (Cantab) Revised Edition August 2007
The philosophy behind this list assumes that students should read one good introductory book that introduces the subject they wish to study before attempting the more detailed works on particular aspects of that subject. Such introductory books should also be accessible to students at their level of reading and learning. Teachers preparing a course for the first time will find An Essential Syllabus Bibliography helpful as a resource when deciding what material to include in that course. Others may be interested to compare this outline with their own syllabus. The list is taken from a larger selection of over 500 Key Books listed in “A Progressive Classification” ** and selected as introductory to subjects catalogued in that classification.
KEY to rating used in Bibliography: Introductory (No rating) * - Easy Introduction # - Comprehensive study mc - Multiple copies held in GTS Library ** The classification used in Gujranwala Theological Seminary Library. It serves also as a Taxonomy of Theological Fields and Topics. and was evolved from an appendix to Curriculum for Theological Development, a manual for those involved in curriculum development in Theological and Bible Schools up to M.Div. level.
