Environment Pollution • An undesirable change in the physical , chemical or biological characteristics of environment is called environment pollution. The substances which pollute the environment are called pollutants. environment pollution has an adverse effect on the life of human beings, other Animals and plants.

Environment Pollution Caused By Natural Processes Some of the natural processes which cause Environment air pollution are: Gases and particulate matter released along with lava from volcanic eruptions; the dust raised from ground during strong winds and storms; smoke from forest fires and fog.

Environment Pollution Caused By Human Activities • Man burns fuels like coal and petroleum products to obtain heat and electric power and to run transport vehicles. The burning of these fuels produces a lot of smoke. The main cause of environment pollution is the smoke emitted by various sources. The smoke is emitted into environment by kitchens, factories and thermal power stations due to which environment gets filled with soot, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. At some places, the pollutants like oxides of Sulphur, oxides of nitrogen and Chlorine are also present in the environment.
