The Princess and the Pea Narrator: One day, there’s a prince who wanted to be married. Princess: Mother, mother, I’m longing for someone. I want to be married as soon as possible. Queen: Okay, then let’s find a perfect princess for you. Narrator: After knowing what the prince wants, the king declared that he is searching for a princess. King: People of my kingdom, I’m searching for a princess that could be my daughter-in-law. Narrator: All the people of the kingdom knew about it and many girls pretended to be a princess. But in the end, the king discovered that they’re not a real princess. So the prince felt sad about it. Prince: Ooooooooooooh, when can we be able to find a real princess for me? Narrator: One night, a knocking was heard at the gate of the palace. A princess wet from head to heel was standing and the gate keeper went to open it. Princess: Good evening. I’m a princess. Can I stay here for a night? Gate keeper: Yes, but I need to ask the king and the queen for permission. Narrator: The gate keeper calls the king and the queen to ask permission if the princess could stay for a night. Gate keeper: Your majesty, a girl just came here and she introduced herself as a princess. Now, she’s asking if she could stay here for a night. Queen: Sure King: But let’s give her a test, to prove that she’s a real princess. Narrator: The queen prepared the bedding of the princess and put a peas under the mattresses. Narrator: The next day, the queen asks the princess. Queen: Good morning. How’s your sleep? Princess: Oh, very badly. I slept terribly last night because there’s something hurting my back. I think it’s in the bed. Narrator: The queen knew that the girl is a real princess because she believes that a real princess has a very sensitive skin. In the end, the prince and the princess got married and they live happily ever after.
