Measures of Job Satisfaction, Organisational Commitment, Mental Health and Job related Wellbeing: A Benchmarking Manual (Paperback) by Chris Stride (Author), Toby D. Wall (Author), Nick Catley (Author) 1.Book Reviews Book Description Promoting the satisfaction, commitment, mental health and well-being of employees is important not only in itself, but also because evidence shows that those who are positive in these respects respond better to change and are more productive. Measures of Job Satisfaction, Organisational Commitment, Mental Health and Job-related Well-being is a unique source of benchmarking data across four widely used questionnaire methods, that provides up-to-date data drawn from 60,000 respondents in 170 organisations across a wide range of industries and occupations. The data is split by sector and occupational group, with the latter broken down further by age and gender, creating a must-have for those using these scales and seeking to benchmark their progress. From the Back Cover There is much evidence to suggest that those who are satisfied at work respond more positively to change than those who are unsatisfied, and that organizations report higher productivity where employees consider themselves satisfied. This second edition of Measures of Job Satisfaction, Mental Health and Job-related Well-

being: A Benchmarking Manual is a unique resource of benchmarking data for widely used questionnaire measures of job satisfaction. The benchmarking data is based on a sample of almost 60,000 respondents from 115 different organisations across a wide spectrum of industries and occupations. The data is presented for each measure by their subscales and/or main variants and is given by industrial sector, and by occupational group, broken down by age and gender. Dealing with four measurement scales of job satisfaction and adding a brand new chapter and extended introduction, this book provides comparative data or ‘norms’ on: Job Satisfaction. Mental Health. Job-related Well-being. As well as brand new benchmarking data for Organisational Commitment.

Job Satisfaction and Organisational Citizenship Behaviour: A study of the relationship between job satisfaction experienced by employees in a brick manufacturing company and OCB (Paperback) by Nadine Sha (Author) 1.Book Reviews Book Description Organ (1988) defines organisational citizenship behaviour as an individual?s behaviour which is discretionary, not directly recognized by a formal reward system and it should lead to more effective running of the organisation. The purpose of this study is to investigate and review literature that examines whether job satisfaction and procedural justice have a positive relationship with the employees organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) in a brick manufacturing industry. Literature suggests that the first research on the antecedents of OCB found that job satisfaction was to be the best predictor. Organ (1997) noted that after two decades of research, job satisfaction is still the leading predictor of OCB. Workers with high levels of job satisfaction are more likely to be engaged in OCB (Brown, 1993). It has also been found that the influence of procedural justice on OCB exists as well (Farh, Podsakoff & Organ, 1990). The sample consists of unskilled and semi-skilled employees, with approximately N = 767 employees and their supervisors or management. About the Author Nadine Sha, an Industrial Psychologist started her career late in 2005 and later qualified in her Masters degree in 2008. She worked in the manufacturing, engineering and

currently in the oil and petroleum industry. She is passionate about research and would like to continue doing so. She can be reached at [email protected]
