ELEMENTS OF ARCHITECTURE 1) HEARTH – fire, ceramics The hearth area is the area below the fireplace. It can extend out into the floor of the living room.

2) ROOF – carpentry That which resembles, or corresponds to, the covering or the ceiling of a house; as, the roof of a cavern; the roof of the mouth.

3) ENCLOSURE – weaving There is disclosed a vent for venting a building enclosure. The vent comprises a base, a cover and at least one attachment structure configured to attach the cover to the base. The base has an attachment element for attaching the base to the building enclosure and an aperture in the base to permit gas to pass in and out of the building enclosure there through. The cover, which is for covering the aperture, has a first cover portion and a second cover portion which are angled relative to one another. The at least one attachment structure is carried by both the first and second cover portions.

4) MOUND – stone masonry Masonry is the building of structures from individual units laid in and bound together by mortar; the term masonry can also refer to the units themselves. The common materials of masonry construction are brick, stone such as marble, granite, travertine, limestone; concrete block, glass block, and tile. Masonry is generally a highly durable form of construction.
